  • We will carry out a site inspection and determine the cause and correct solution for the problem. A free personalized specification and quotation will be drawn up and submitted to client.
  • Specifications are drawn up based on relevant supplier requirements in order to honour their standard product guarantees.
  • On larger projects we can call on the relevant Waterproofing supplier to compile a comprehensive specification that can be used by the client when obtaining quotes from other contractors. Selected suppliers can also be requested to monitor the progress of the project to ensure all work is done according to the manufacturer’s requirements.

Have you ever noticed that the walls in your house’s paint are pealing off on the lower or higher parts of the walls? If you have, you may have a damp problem. There are different kinds of damp problems, but the first signs would be paint pealing off or discolouring of the wall (a brownish color).

Damp problems usually occur when houses have been built with insufficient damp proofing, which usually occurs when the builder is trying to cut costs by employing cheap labour or using cheap products, or both. What happens is that the dampness from soil (in the lower parts of the wall case) penetrates the cement and slowly oozes through the lower parts of the wall to the surface. This could cause the floor to get wet in severe cases, and will, over time, start damaging the foundation of your house. The official term for this is “rising damp.” Note that it is not always the result of trying to cut costs, damp proofing has a life span and will, in time, give in and need to be replaced.

You may also find that the upper parts of your walls may be exposed to damp. Reasons for this occurring vary from a small geyser leak to a roof leak, and also in some cases just plain damp conditions. Note that these two kinds are not the only kinds of damp problems occurring and we specialize in handling all of them.

A damp proof course (or DPC) is a barrier in a wall that is made to prevent dampness from rising through the lower parts of your walls. A damp-proof membrane (or DPM) is similar to a DPC, however it is designed to use on floors.

Before we do any damp proofing jobs, we test the level of moisture and if the reading shows that it is above 12%, we offer specialized damp proofing in addition to the standard damp proofing procedure.
